Chula Vista, CA – In a major momentum boost for Leticia Munguia’s campaign for the Chula Vista City Council, today Munguia's campaign announced that the Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) has endorsed Leticia Munguia.
SEIU-UHW is one of the largest unions of hospital workers in the western United States, with over 100,000 members. Its members are frontline caregivers, including respiratory care practitioners, dietary, environmental services and nursing staff who keep Californians healthy. SEIU-UHW members are friends, neighbors, and family whose mission is to provide quality care for all patients, expand access to excellent, affordable healthcare for all Californians and improve living standards for all workers.
Leticia Munguia said, “To receive the endorsement of SEIU-UHW is to be entrusted with the hopes and dreams of the thousands of healthcare heroes who have been on the frontlines, especially during our most challenging times. This game-changing moment reinforces my resolve to fight even harder for the dignity of all working people in our community. With SEIU-UHW's support, we will continue to build a stronger Chula Vista where our quality of life is enhanced and where everyone can thrive.”
SEIU-UHW’s endorsement signifies an infusion of energy into Munguia's campaign, and is a powerful affirmation that Leticia Munguia is the only candidate best suited to serve on the Chula Vista City Council.
Election day is March 5, 2024.
